The crash of the “Smash” is believed to occur for the primary reason that Sergey Lasarev made a decision to start off his solo career.

Wedding-party goes drunk-session.
On 14-th of January Tatu's press-attache Aleksandra Tityanko married author of "Ya soshla s uma" song (also of Tatu:))Sergey Galoyan. The holiday atmosphere was "high-octane" boosted by tequila and songs. Among other guests there were also Katina and Volkova of Tatu, who were to depart to LA on Monday. By the way, it was Galoyan who wrote a half of all the songs for the new album of Tatu.
Kieran Pepper - drummer of the PRODIGY - also attended the party.

Tatu have recorded a song with Trevor Horn.
Famous English producer Trevor Horn who took part in creation of the international version of the first Tatu’s album wrote a new song called “Craving” for the duo. That song has been just recorded by Yulya and Lena during several recent days in his studio in Los Angeles. Trevor Horn does not act as a producer of Tatu’s new album, as some press sources erroneously stated. Most of the album’s tracks are being produced by Sergey Galoyan, who also authors music of almost all songs under his production.

Yulya Volkova does intensive vocal exercises during her stay in Los Angeles.
Yulya takes singing lessons almost every day for the last two months. Her tutor is one of the best vocal teachers – Ron Anderson – who is considered to be a living national endowment of America in a branch of vocal training due to his outstanding mastery. In the past Ron Anderson helped Justin Timberlake, Kylie Minogue, Bjork, Guns’n’Roses, Soundgarden, P.O.D. and many other singers to overcome wide range of different problems concerning their vocal cords. Nowadays he trains Yulya to sing in a new way which is more suitable for her to record “shouting” voice parts without a harm. Yulya’s voice sounds different now with even greater appealingness. You will hear the results for yourself in upcoming new songs.

Today Tatu have recorded one more song for their new album – “All My Love”.
This song will be available on the Tatu’s international album in Russian version only. Group considered the text by Valerii Polienko “so very unique” it should stay non-translated into English to avoid deviation of its ideas. Recording of the second album of Tatu goes on in one of the most well-known studios of Los Angeles – “The Village Recording Studios”. Visited by The Beatles several times, this is the studio where entire generations of musicians – ranging from The Rolling Stones and The Doors to Marilyn Manson, Madonna and Limp Bizkit – use to make their records.

T.A.T.U. girl has lost her voice
The singer of the scandalous duo Tatu, Julia Volkova recently lost her voice. That’s not the first time. The thing is that Julia has often to almost scream the lyrics of the songs out and the vocal cords don’t hold the tension.
During the recording of the song “Vsya Moya Lubov”, Julia had literally to scream a few parts in a row, as “Zhizn” reports. After that, the girl almost lost her voice and that could jeopardise the recording of the second album.
Producer of the group Boris Rensky had to ask for help his friends in the Village Studios. Rensky was recommended to take Julia to one of the best voice coaches Ron Anderson, who had worked with Kylie Minoug and Bjork, and lately is working with the famous artist Justin Timberlake.
Anderson has set up a special programme for Julia. During the nearest two months, Julia will be doing special exercises, that should help her to get her vocal cords recovered.

There is no conflict between girls as it was reported by some media sources, said officials who preferred to stay unnamed.

The new issue of the russian 'Rolling Stone' magazine published an interview with Julia and Lena, Sasha Tityanko-Galoyan, Ivan and Valerie Polienko. Sorry for any possible mistakes I've done.
( This is the first part of the interview, i'll translate and post the second one tomorrow )
1.What will happen with the group Taty?
Julia Volkova:
Whatever will come, it will come!! We are recording our album in America.
Elena Katina:
Everything is great, we're recording our album, we are feeling noticeably excellent and we're planning to release our album in autmn.And it goes on as usual: concerts, promo etc.
Sasha Tityanko-Galoyan:
Sound producers of the new album, which comes out approximately in september 2005 on the label Interscope, are Sergey Galoyan, Valerie Polienko who wrote the russian version of the lyrics and some English
young people who were in charge of the English versions.
Elena Kiper:
Since I don't collaborate with them anymore you have to ask their press

Ivan Shapovalov:
tATu fades in the course of time.

We all want the new album to be more tender, keener and uncompromising than the first one.It seems besides shorts and the «õóé âîéíå» shirts almost no one understood something.
2.Why is there nothing about tATu in television or radio?
Julia Volkova:
Because tATu had a break.
Elena Katina:
Everyone knows that Julia became mom and during this period we can't release something new, that could be played on the radio.
Sasha Tityanko-Galoyan:
The channels (always) support new singles.The appearance of new songs
were prevented by other different circumstances, everyone knows about it and for those who don't - you can read it in the newspaper 'zhisn'.
Elena Kiper:
The media inside the country is very rigid. After «Ôàáðèêà» (Yves= Casting Show in Russia,something like 'Pop Idol' )it became obvious that the direction of the viewers goes to the creation of analog concerts with controlled stars filling our channels.
Ivan Shapovalov:
You have to ask the television and the radio.
3. What are you doing right now?
Julia Volkova:
We're eating cherry jam.
Elena Katina:
I'm writting in my diary.
Sasha Tityanko-Galoyan:
We're cutting the vocales of Lena and Julia for the song 'Sacrifice' on
the studio.
Elena Kiper:
I'm producing and writting for the new nichya album, rerecord the first
one into Englisch and so on.

I'm busy with new projects, 'ice breaker'.

4.- What was the reason for the breakup of the team which led the group to this huge success?
Julia Volkova: There were a lot of reasons, we should not talk about it in detail.Everyone has left but we're still here.
Elena Katina: Sometimes you have to lose something in order to find something new which is even better. But how much better it is - the listeners should judge.I think we made the right decision.
Sasha Tityanko-Galoyan: The team as it was earlier on already began to to devour itself. The whole inconsistency,absurdity and the remonstrative behaviour which attracted the people and became a distinguishing feature of T.A.T.U. Elena Kiper: What has generated the team has also killed it.Ambitions. But nobody and nothing is forgotten.It was a big quantity of leader in the project therefore it,probably,has turned out such successful.
Ivan Shapovalov: I.
Valerie Polienko: Honestly, I think it's the mass from the clip. It's them, these people and Mal'chik Gei is with them.
5.- How many money have you personally earned with the project TATU?
Julia Volkova: 150 rouble.
Elena Katina: Not so much as everyone thinks.
Sasha Tityanko-Galoyan: I've already spent everything, so I need it now.
Elena Kiper: This number even on the most daring calculations had to be less than half million but it proved to be more.
Ivan Shapovalov: I didn't count.
Valerie Polienko:
Since my childhood I don't handle with numbers - I've never learned it.
6.- Which, in your opinion, perspectives has got the project T.A.T.U.?
Julia Volkova: We'll see.
Elena Katina: It's to early to judge but I think just with new songs good ones.
Sasha Tityanko-Galoyan: T.A.T.U. is a intensely unpredictable project.All your plans can be destroyed during one day, but next day occurs something wonderful, and you understand, that all this cannot simply happen with no reason.
Elena Kiper: It will be very hard to repeat the huge success again, even if the efforts are big and the continuation won't be inferior to the beginning.
Ivan Shapovalov: Distant.
Valerie Polienko: The result is dependet on our work.It don't has to be a big sensation.Good perspectives,promising.

Giving new meaning to the old phrase ‘les be friends’ the biggest selling teenage pop duo of the millennium are back to stir up some more controversy with new single ‘All About Us’ due to hit the music shelves this September. The first to be taken from their second album ‘Dangerous And Moving.’
After a two-year break, almost winning the Eurovision Song Contest and sacking their creator Ivan Shapovalov, the world’s best known ‘fake’ lesbians, Julia Volkova and Lena Katina, who shot to fame with their first single ‘All The Things She Said’ are back with a vengeance.
New single ‘All About Us,’ recalls the controversy that has surrounded the girls since their meteoric rise to fame.
It sees the girls all grown up and ditching their electro-pop sound for a more a rocker edge. Still it sounds pretty much like everything else t.A.T.u have ever released, with a catchy chorus on constant repeat “It’s all about us” and lyrics like “When they hurt you/they hurt me too” thought provoking stuff.
As always their uncensored mini movie/music video, directed by James Cox is probably the best part of the single, with violence, drinking, bad ass cars and the girls looking like sexy modern day Lolita’s.
It might not have the same impact as ‘All The Things She Said’ but it will probably be a hit anyway.

- Generally yes. But i've become tired of it and i have decided to change.

- Аhа, there they straightened my hair and added highlights… If i styled my hair like that everyday, i would become bald in five years.

- Yes, i get beaten and dragged by my hair there.
All of this looks so real that it's hard to believe you didn't get any bruises.
- Yulia: In America they know how to remove them. I certainly didn't suffer. Only my hair. (laughs). It had to have it cut short.
Everything is new with you now: management, videos, album. It seems even your name was supposed to be changed to "Tema"?
- No, we were and remain the "Tatugirls".
But do the rights on the brand "Tatu" not belong to your ex-producer Ivan Shapovalov?
- It is his name, but ours too at the same time, as equal partners in the project. Nobody was opposed to us continuing to use the name. We have simply signed legal papers and all that.
What kind of relations have you kept with Ivan?
- Lena: Friendly. We've gone away from him quietly, without scandals. He's in the business like us. We called him from America when the album was being recorded. We can meet to have a cup of tea. Not very often in my case because i don't go out much, but Yulia sees him regularly.
When you left Shapovalov in 2004, the second album was not recorded, plus Yulia got pregnant. You didn't want to go on with show business?
- Yulia: No, on the contrary, we longed to do something.
- Lena: We simply decided to take a small break until Yulia had given birth, to gather forces… The material was prepared, recorded, and in my opinion it turned rather great.
How would you describe your new album?
- For us there are two, the Russian one and the English one. Globally they are less pop than "200km/h in the Wrong Lane", more serious, deep, and adult, more depressive. They contain more of us, our mood, our soul.
And why are you in a depressed mood?
- Just look at what is happening in the world.
You're having a hard time with the war in Iraq?
- Yes. All those political games… Here the Russian album is called "Invalid People", you know why? Because we are surrounded by many monsters: traitors, envious persons, those who can not love, feel pity, and are not capable of kind feelings. We live in such a world, and everybody is involved in this. But nobody tries to change anything.
And you try?
- We've made this album, maybe it will make people think.
While you were working on it in Los Angeles, it was said that you had time for other things. Lena, for example, has recorded a solo album.
- It's not true.
You posed naked for "Playboy"…
- It's not true either. Actually we had negotiations with American "Playboy", but we finally refused to do a photoshoot.
You did not agree on the conditions?
- No, we simply realized it was not suitable for us.
It was also said that Lena had a serious operation.
- Yes, but not that serious, and not in Los Angeles, but in Moscow.
Why? To be at the same place as the specialists is good, no?
- Аhа, probably. This doctor came and said: "you have gastritis, drink juices". But i was sure it was not gastritis. I had a big stone in my gall bladder. As long as it did not bother me, i didn't want to do anything about it. The year went on, and then i had an attack just on my way to Los Angeles, in the plane. You could not imagine anything "better". I almost died. I don't remember what happened, everything was yellow, something passed there… I was put back on the first flight back to Moscow where my mum met me at the airport and brought me to the clinic to see the doctors who had been following me for a long time. I was operated there.
Girls, while you were working in Los Angeles, you were sharing the same hotel room…
- So what? We always take one room. There were cases when we arrived somewhere for a performance and they gave us separate rooms. We made tantrums if they gave us different rooms!
But you are completely different. Working together, and then living together, it's easy to get on each other's nerves.
- We never argue. We can have bad days when we are angry at each other, but it doesn't last, and we get over it.
What about some small bickering?… Like if Yulia doesn't wash the dishes.
- What dishes in a hotel?
Or if Lena scatters things in the room.
- Lena: It's Yulia who scatters! (laughs). I'm the one who has to pick them up.
- Yulia: We've known each other for such a long time: we know each other's habits, what cosmetics we use, who scatters things, where each other's underwear is. We've gotten used to it and it doesn't annoy us, we support each other, we help each other to get rid of some bad habits.
And what have you already helped Lena to get rid of?
- I want her to stop smoking. I myself smoked for six years and then i stopped in one day, one month before getting pregnant. Not because i wanted to become pregnant, it's just a coincidence. In America when things got rough i started smoking again, a month and a half later i stopped again, and now i haven't smoked for three weeks.
Lena, have you tried to change something in Yulia?
- Yes. I want her to stop squandering! (laughs). Well it's the truth when someone goes shopping and buys herself jeans when she already has two cupboards full of clothes…

- No. She simply doesn't wear them. She wears two pairs and has 250 more at home. Any of the lot would suffice, but new are always necessary.

- He lives with us in a threesome. (laughs). But seriously, i went there to work and had a lot to do. It was not the right time to move.

- Why? I understand that people are interested in the private life of artists. I will simply say: i have a boyfriend. He is a US citizen, he's been living there for many years, we've met over there. That's all. Why would you need to know his name and other details?

- Well, when I was younger - 15/16 - like for all young girls at this age, looks were very important to me. At school we are all looking for our prince. You wanted to tell about the sincere qualities of your loved one.
- I will tell this: i love him for who he is, and for what he is with me.
It was said that because of him you left the father of your daughter - Pasha. Is is true?
- The truth is that after living together for three years, i and Pasha have realized that we are different people. It happened when i already was pregnant. Nevertheless we made the decision to separate to not quarrel anymore, to not become enemies. Now we have a normal relationship. When i'm in Moscow, we meet frequently, the last time was the day before yesterday. Pasha also has a new love.
Forgive the personal question but what is the name of your daughter?
- Victoria Pavlovna Volkova.
Was she christened? Lena will be godmother, i think?
- She's not christened yet. I don't know… On the one hand, it is necessary, on the other hand, i'm christian, but i don't carry a cross and don't go to church.
When you decided to have the child, you understood the consequences of this act?
- I went on with it fully aware. Though i hadn't planned the pregnancy and taking a decision was difficult, i was not in a good psychological situation, and there was my career. But i told myself that the child was more important. I went on with it and gave birth, and i don't regret it one second. How could i regret something like that? Yes, if it wasn't for work, i probably would be pregnant again right now. I want more children! Four. That's five with Vika.
- Lena: You did well, Yulka. If i became pregnant, i would have the child too.
Lena, you said in interviews that you were dreaming of having children since you were 14. Now, seeing Yulia having one did not make you change your mind?
- No, why would that make me change my mind?
Well, labour is not especially pleasant.
- Yulia: Оy, for me being in labour was like a party. When i arrived to give birth, i calmed all the pregnant women who were shouting there. I said: girls, where are you now? You've reached the moment of happiness. So why are you shouting? And young women all in labour were also moaning.
Do you ask Lena to nurse your daughter?
- Yulia: You can't nurse Vika easily, she's independent. You can't take her in your hands if she doesn't like it, she can strike. She can recognize people well. She knows my parents, her nurses, she likes them more than me. Seriously, we were in America for six months, she's no longer used to me. Vika knows me and likes me too, but she plays more with her nurses and smiles more often to them.
Do you have any specific parental duties that only you do?
- No, the nurses do everything. And it's really sad. If i have the time, i bathe her and take her for a walk. But today for example i got up at 10am and will be home not before 9pm, so all i'll have left to do is say goodnight to my daughter and that's all.
Did you think of taking Vika with you to Los Angeles?
- Such a young child? She was only 3 months old when we left.
So you didn't feed her long.
- I fed her one month and a half. And then work.
Lena, there has been changes in your private life too. The young man Andrey is no longer with you. But there is now someone else whose name is unfortunately not known.
- Lena: And thank God! (laughs). Andrey is still there too actually, in the sense that we have not quarreled, and separated in consent. I'm in a new stage of my life. I won't give a name. - Yulia: We'll all live together.

musicOMH.com Gives High Praise to t.A.T.u.'s New Music
Everyone's favourite faux schoolgirl lesbians are back, and before long, pretty much every newspaper entertainment page is going to be all about TATU.
All About Us is a step on from the pop veneer of the girls breakthrough hit All The Things She Said; All About Us calls on a slightly more rocked-up approach. Other than that, very little has changed in the world of TATU, as once again they serve up an immaculately produced and written pop song. In fact it's not entirely dissimilar in pace and lyrical meter from All The Things She Said, and has a chorus that is addictive as crack flavoured Pringles.
Of course it wouldn't be a TATU single without a little controversy, and they've managed to achieve it this time with the video. Essentially opening up with a pop at the way they’ve been portrayed in the press (that whole lesbian thing again), it quickly heads towards scenes of sexual violence and culminates in a pretty bloody shooting. It's been censored in most quarters already, but no doubt it will cause the fuss it was meant to. Add the video to the lesbian question (thankfully they look older now so the paedophilic nature of the act won't be an issue anymore) and the fact that Julia now has a baby and a girlfriend, there's very little doubt that TATU will be a major talking point once again. It's a shame all the talk about them won't be about All About Us - pop music doesn't get much better than this.

The big European promo has been launched! On 11-th of September Lena and Yulia departed from Moscow and Los Angeles to gather in Barcelona. During the 3 following weeks t.A.T.u. will meet major mass-media agencies representatives and European fans and will rock several clubs with their new hits.

Lena comes up to the airport with straightened hair and a thick Feuchtwanger’s “Goya” book in her hands. In case you don’t know – it is a kind of harlequin novel, something romantic and historic. “Goya” is Lena’s hand-luggage on the Moscow-Barcelona flight. Flight takes about 4 hours. Lena reads and sleeps. Sleeps off, to be more precise. Little has changed since the days of last promo-tours: the very first duty after landing is to call mom.
Lena: …Mum, greetings to you from Seryozha, from security... And from Igor! ... And you too!
Lena’s cellphone rings in trills of laughter, and this laughter is our companion all the way to hotel.
Roman, Sven and Troy – musicians who are to play with t.A.T.u. in this promo – come to hotel Hesperia Presidente after Lena does. Everyone came from the US. Everyone but not everything – Sven’s keyboard is lost. We are trying hard to find new keyboard for there’s a rehearsal taking place tonight. We also meet Neil at the hotel, he is Universal’s manager who’s going to work with t.A.T.u. during the promo-tour.
Neil: Everybody says that Barcelona and Rome are the most posh cities in Europe. And also… no, that’s all, Barcelona and Rome.
It is summer in Barcelona still. This means heat, palm-trees, camisoles and sandals. Yulia is to arrive at 15:30, flight from Paris. There’s no “visual contact” with her for a long time, and when this finally happens it turns out that “star’s” luggage had shared the same fate as keyboard – it didn’t make it. Yulia walks dressed in a striped singlet and a suntan from beaches of Los Angeles, and she is very indignant. But (how does she manage to be???) smiling as usually.
Yulia: F***, I new that, I new I was about to be left without luggage. No clothes now, so what is to be worn?! I hate wearing the same things... That’s it, tomorrow I’ll go shopping instead of all those interviews!

“Mission goals” in total: 15 interviews and 3 shootings. The word “huge” corresponding to the circulation and popularity of engaged mass-media can be seen many times on hardcopy of tour-plan today. But the “mission” is still not “initiated” – Yulia rejects black bob-styled wig.
Yulia: Just look at this f*****g s**t. No, I don’t. I feel myself like granny who’s got no hair! There was my hair in the video, not a wig!
Finally Yulia agrees to put on the wig but just only for the time shootings, and girls walk downstairs to the conference hall in house slippers (!!). t.A.T.u. are giving interviews all day long, at the moments of breaks Yulia uses to take her wig off and put it on everyone who’s being spotted by her big blue eyes. After all this Lena is staying to read Feuchtwanger at the hotel, and Yulia whose luggage has not still arrived is out for the new one...
P.S.: The title song of the Russian album’s version LYUDI INVALIDY is to hit the airwaves of national music channel Muz-TV starting this Friday. The song is about to get in heavy rotation – not less than once every three hours. Audience can hardly miss it.
